When it comes to moving through a shopping addiction, and even bad shopping behavior, it can be a long process that involves alternating between “good” and “bad” behavior. You may be doing really well for some time, staying within budgets and sticking to your goals. And then (maybe slowly at first) you find yourself backsliding into old behaviors. If you go back and forth between progress and backsliding, the key to getting your habits in check is holding yourself accountable. This might mean taking your credit card off shopping sites or even blocking those sites altogether. But over time you will reinforce stronger, healthier behavior patterns and it will be harder to backslide.
