It may be partially a gender stereotype, but the belief that women make more purchases than men has also been revealed in survey data. In fact, women may be responsible for about 80 percent of purchases for the home. Men, however, may hold some key advantages as shoppers, stemming from possible evolutionary roles. Men hunt when they shop – they know what they want and they get it and check out. Women may be more on the gathering side of the spectrum, so if that sounds like you, try sticking to a shopping list.
