Lisa, a mother of two before she reached age of 20, wanted a home to fill with things that would help her achieve a middle-class lifestyle and show her success. For years she worked two jobs at a time, showering her children with gifts, frequently changing the theme of her home by replacing the furnishings and often hiring a maid so she could earn more money for more things. When her home burned down she just rebuilt and replaced. Dealing with her father’s collection of tons of electronics and machinery finally showed her how much time was wasted on things and caused her to successfully pursue a simpler life.
