Shopping Addiction and Awareness

We’ve all heard the saying that the first step to solving a problem is admitting you have one. But what if you have one without knowing it? This is often the case with shopping addictions. Shopping sounds a lot less harmful and scary than, say, substance abuse, but it does have its own set of negative consequences. A lot of people shop without being addicted to it, but a shopping addict is someone who uses it to cope with other problems in their life, who gets an adrenaline rush from shopping and feels like they have to do it every day. Over time, this can impact your social relationships and your mental and financial health.
